Data. Logic. Reasoning.
Actually… I’ve never seen those work.
When I have seen a belief changed, it was the result of time, repetition, and personal relationships. The decision to take hold of a new belief, and the discipline to stick to it and hold yourself accountable to the actions that belief demands. Or maybe hold hope for another person beyond what they have for themselves, and take the steps that optimism dictates.
And those actions and steps, consistently applied, produce returns. Gradual growth, bit by bit.
In short, it’s not easy. It takes patience, effort, and time. But it’s worth it–because, as we’ve discussed–these stories we write for ourselves have a way of gradually working themselves into reality.
